It is a family business with its headquarters and its main activities in Zakynthos, where since 2021 has expanded to Athens through the creation of 2 new Carrefour Express stores.

With a fully developed network of retail stores - supermarkets and at the same time Cash & Carry Wholesale for professionals (door to door service and delivery point), we managed to serve approximately 1.600 businesses at Zakynthos, mainly in the HO.RE.CA sector, and over 2.500 retail customers daily.

Historical Review

1980

LEONIDAS PLESSAS S.A. established as the official representative of the Halyvourgiki Hellenic Steel Industry S.A. for the island of Zakynthos, with a privately owned fleet of trucks.
1988

Byout of the small monopolistic company Dion. Kontonis & Co. General Partnership with field of activity in bottling of soft drinks & beer trading.
1988-1994

Exclusive partnerships with major beverage houses such as Berry Bros. & Rudd and Allied Domecq and also with flagship companies such as Coca Cola and Athenian Brewery.
1998

Opening of the first Cash & Carry store with a wide range of products (drinks, soft drinks & beers), in a 5,000 sq.m. space where co-located with the company's offices and warehouses.
2001

The company is changing its legal structure into Cash and Carry Shareholder Ltd consolidating its leading position in the local market, while at the same time is rapidly developing its portfolio with brands of energy drinks, imported wines, etc.
2002

Signing of an exclusive partnership as the island's representative with PEPSICO. Signing of a commercial franchise agreement with the company Dia % of the Careffour group. Creation of the first privately owned Dia % supermarket store in an area of 800 sq.m. and immediate creation of a second Dia % supermarket store in Laganas in an area of 500 sq.m.
2004

Creation of the third DIA % supermarket in Tsilivi in an area of 700 sq.m.
2005

Expansion of the company activities with the acquisition of a 2* and 48-bed hotel in Laganas and its subsequent conversion into a 3* and 63-bed hotel.
2007

Loss of the company's founder. The family members take the leadership of the business.
2009

Creation of the fourth Dia % supermarket at Mouzaki in an area of 500 sq.m.
2012

Signing of a commercial agreement with Masoutis group. Rebranding of stores to Express Market.
2014-2015

Two brand new Express Market stores are being created on Tavoulari Str. and in Alykanas.
2016

Exclusive collaboration for the whole Greece with the British frozen food company, Iceland. New synergies with brands of ice cream and confectionery products. Exclusive representation of the companies MARS, COLD SIN & PROVIO for the island of Zakynthos.
2017

Creation of one more Express Market store at Kipoi.
2018

Express Market store in Anapafseos is turning into a modern Cash & Carry store. Creation of a new Express Market store in Gaitani in an area of 1.000 sq.m., with a separate fully updated Iceland section.
2019

Achieving a new commercial agreement with the multinational chain SPAR. Rebranding of the stores and development of the product mix with SPAR private label products. Establishment of a new flagship retail store in the heart of Zakynthos town, in Solomos Square and establishment of a Gregory's brand coffee shop in the same place.
2020

Establishment of another SPAR store in the heart of the city, at Ifantourgeion & Xanthopoulou 1 Str. The company already collaborates with Carrefour and exclusively sells the group's private label products in its stores.
2021

Expansion in Athens with 2 new stores in Kolonaki and Neos Kosmos.
2022

Achieving a new franchising agreement with Carrefour and rebranding of four stores.
2023

Construction of advanced logistics center and offices in 10.000 sq.m. and 4.000 pallet spaces in Zakynthos.
2024

Establishment of a third Carrefour store in Athens on Sofokleous Str., and a second seasonal store in Laganas.

Administration Offices

The company's headquarters are located in privately owned facilities of 10.000 sq.m. near the city center, where are also located the administration offices and the departments of marketing, sales, accounting, costing, control and human resources.

Warehouses

For a better support in our stores and for providing a more complete service to our wholesale customers, the company has proceeded with the creation of modern supply chain facilities. In a privately owned area of 10.000 sq.m., with covered storage of 5.000 sq.m. and management by highly trained workforce, high amount of stocks are maintained in all regular items.
